A welcome from Alderney's Golf Club Captain

John Rodgers

2020 Club Captain

A warm welcome to you all, be you visiting Alderney Golf Club for the first time, or returning to enjoy the delights of our course.

Our course boasts some of the most scenic tee boxes in the British Isles, with sea views in every direction, taking in France to the East, and Alderney harbour and the English Channel to the West.

With a par 64 the course comprises 9 greens and 19 tees (13th is for competition only) and is considered a stern test for all handicaps.

We  are celebrating our 50th Anniversary in 2020 and although we were unable to stage an event to coincide with the official opening of the club in 1970 due to the Covid pandemic we have rearranged the dates for the Alderney Open competition. This is now taking place on 5th & 6th of September. The Open attracts players from far and wide. The weekend commences with a practice day on Friday, a medal round off full handicap on Saturday, and if you make the cut a final medal round on Sunday: if you miss the cut a 9 hole stableford competition awaits. This is a fun packed event and in view of the anniversary we are planning some extra special festivities over the course of the weekend .

This year the Seniors Open will be combined with the 50th Anniversary event in September.

On behalf of AGC I wish you all a very successful 2020.
